Woke scientists declare “online fascism” after survey into trans involvement in academic STEM programs elicits responses of mockery, scorn

Researchers at Oregon State University (OSU) conducted a survey recently to assess “transgender and gender nonconforming” representation in undergraduate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs at American colleges and universities. Out of the 723 responses the team received, only 299 were considered to be “valid,” with 50, or 15 percent, getting classified as flat-out “malicious” – meaning almost nobody took the ridiculous survey seriously.

Upset by the findings of their survey – findings showing that most Americans consider it a joke to even consider trans-whatever as having any relevance in education – five of the more “woke” OSU researchers compiled a study about the sarcastic responses, which they claim serves as proof that “fascist ideologues” are “living ‘inside the house’ of engineering and computer science.”

The team had a really hard time getting their follow-up paper published because, just like with the survey, nobody took it seriously. Entitled “Attack Helicopters and White Supremacy: Interpreting Malicious Responses to an Online Questionnaire about Transgender Undergraduate Engineering and Computer Science Student Experiences,” the paper finally ended up getting published in some LGBT backwater journal called Bulletin of Applied Transgender Studies, an in-house journal of Northwestern University.

“The malicious words and slurs directed towards our research team had a profound impact on [our] morale and mental health … particularly for one of our graduate student researchers … who was already in therapy for anxiety and depression regarding online anti-trans rhetoric,” the study’s authors complain, adding that the individual in question “had to be taken off the project to heal from traumatic harm.”

(Related: The Nature Human Behavior journal no longer publishes any science that LGBTs find to be “offensive.”)

Most STEM survey respondents self-identified as Apache attack helicopters

In case you are unfamiliar with the term “attack helicopters,” this comes from a longstanding trans-mockery meme that encourages normal people to “identify” as whatever they want just like the LGBTs do. So, many of them responded to the survey that they self-identify as attack helicopters, and specifically the Apache helicopters used by the U.S. military because they represent “a synthesis and reflection of U.S. military force and the appropriation of Indigenous language by colonizers.”

“Online memes associated with white nationalist and fascist movements were present throughout the data, alongside memes and content referencing gaming and ‘nerd’ culture,” the study’s authors further gripe about the public response to their cringeworthy LGBT survey for STEM.

The solution, they say, is to fight the “fascist menace” head-on since the survey results demonstrate “social justice STEM education must include perspectives on online hate radicalization and center anti-colonial, intersectional solidarity organizing as its opposition.”

“The university at its most ideal can be envisioned as ‘a central site for revolutionary struggle, a site where we can work to educate for critical consciousness’ using ‘a pedagogy of liberation,'” the paper further states.

“Identities such as transgender status in STEM teaching should similarly not be taught as ‘single issues’ but be conceptualized as one component of our multifaceted experiences with power and oppression – and that categories such as race, gender, and sexuality have roots in European colonial logics shared by fascist movements.”

The study’s authors also want STEM students to be taught about “fossil fuels, defense, construction, and technology” must also be taught “about these field’s relationships with national and global racial capitalism.”

Among the other self-identities survey respondents used were “I identify as a gift card,” “A human being,” “Cis gender lizard king,” and “Quasi-Demi-poney; bankai-released state queercopter with a hint of faggotdrag lesbian and homosexual upside-down Frappuccino cake.”
